For many, fundraising is not simply a profession — it is a form of vocation, carried over time with care and intention. It deserves a recruitment practice that honours that.
Giardino Careers is a global recruitment agency and specialist platform serving the nonprofit and charitable sector — founded by those who understand what it means to give yourself to this work, and who care deeply about the people who do.
Why we hold the standard we do
The right role, found with enough honesty and clarity, can shape the course of a career—and through that, the work of an organisation.
That belief informs how we approach every listing.
There is always a salary range.
And wherever possible, there is a clear sense of who will flourish in the work—and who may not.
Candidates are also invited to say something of themselves before applying—so the process begins with a little more substance.
These are not idealistic positions. They are practical ones.
When roles are described well, they tend to attract the right people—and the work that follows is stronger for it.
The Giardino Way
Giardino is a global recruitment agency for nonprofits seeking revenue-generating staff — fundraisers, grant writers, and senior leaders who will connect deeply with the mission and flourish in the role. We lead searches personally. We ask for salary transparency from every employer. We give every candidate honest feedback at every stage. And we believe that a good hire is the beginning of a relationship, not the end of a transaction.
Meet our Founder
Welcome to Giardino Careers. I'm Philip Reilly, and I'm glad you found your way here.
Originally from Scotland, I now live and work in British Columbia, Canada. My work in global fundraising was first shaped during a visit to Kolkata, India — my father's homeland — as a university student. That encounter with poverty and injustice was deeply human and impossible to ignore. It quietly set the direction for everything since.
Over the years I've worked alongside organisations across East Africa, South Asia, and here in Canada and the UK — across major donor relationships, fundraising strategy, and team formation. Through that work, one thing has become clear: organisations rarely struggle for lack of passion. They struggle when there is misalignment — between the role advertised and the one that actually needed filling, between the person hired and the culture they were hired into.
Giardino Careers is a response to that. A space where roles are shared honestly, and where hiring is treated as the beginning of a relationship — not a transaction.
If this resonates, I'd love to hear from you.
